The Lock Pro pursues in the footsteps of the original SwitchBot Lock, which retrofitted onto deadbolt locks to change them into smart IoT locks. Still, it comes with a more elegant design that blends right into the door frame, a higher torque output that opens and locks doors with complete ease, and even the inclusion of a biometric sensor and a number pad that lets people unlock doors with their fingerprint or a PIN.
There is a tiniest amount of assembly, the Lock Pro operates on replaceable AA batteries, and it also helps the Matter IoT protocol which represents the Lock Pro can seamlessly intercommunicate with all the other smart home devices, whether they are from Apple, Google, Amazon, or any other third party company operating on the Matter protocol.
Created with both European and American markets in mind, this retrofit smart lock blends seamlessly into existing hardware, keeping all common deadbolt locks. Installation is a breeze, taking 5 minutes – for US deadbolts, SwitchBot Lock Pro comes fitted with tailored adapters that support effortless cylinder shifts, while European users can look for other mounting plates based on the protrusion of their cylinder. In essence, the Lock Pro constructs on the mere refinement of its predecessor, which permitted wireless unlocking and locking utilizing Bluetooth devices like Apple Watch or phone, or via smart home commands through the SwitchBot Hub. Having those existing features, the Lock Pro adds a few more for good standard, including a numeric keypad that is placed on the outside, letting residents enter the house with a custom PIN code.
The SwitchBot Lock Pro operates on standard 4 x AA batteries, showing an amazing battery life of 6-9 months, 1.5 times longer than other retrofit smart locks.
