Swiss MRI-Safety Recommendations

In collaboration with the Swiss Society of Radiology and the Swiss Association of Radiology Technologists, AMPEC published version 2.0 of recommendations for safe magnetic-resonance (MR) imaging practices in Switzerland.

The document facilitates the preparation and establishment of site-specific MR-safety guidelines and operation procedures. It tries to address all MR-specific aspects involved with a safe installation and operation of MR-imaging scanners.

The recommendations are available in German only. An English version is in preparation.

Since 2015 the MR-safety situation in Switzerland is somewhat special since the Swiss ordinance on the protection of mothers requires employers to not have pregnant employees expose any body part to magnetic fields of 40 mT or stronger.
