The Swiss Federal Council (German: Bundesrat) has announced a new consultation on improving the legal conditions for blockchain and distributed ledger technologies (DLT) in Switzerland. This is great news as it gives tail wind to our growing start-up community and entrepreneurship in the context of DLT use. Whereas some people might argue that we already have enough laws and regulations in place and DLT being especially targeted at a disrupting new approach to ease things, the package represents a comprehensive approach to create a framework to push DLT ahead. It addresses various aspects from the traditional bitcoin on the ledger to payments and crowdfunding.

Notably, our AlgoTrader board member Luzius Meisser is also part of the expert committee putting the proposal in place (Meisser Economics). We are happy to see that the mix of experts is not only composed of lawyers but also of entrepreneurs who already are in the middle of DLT for years.
