Financial Wellness Tips for Single Men
I just took a call yesterday from a very smart financial services professional. He was contacted by a woman on Facebook who is quite attractive. She's a successful entrepreneur and travels extensively. (the image above was AI generated by Grok2)
'Valerie' offered to help my friend 'Ryan' earn more money so he could accompany her on a few business trips. (affectionate texting)
She promised that Ethereum mining was incredibly profitable and for an initial investment, he could earn 8% or more every month in "staking" tokens.
First he wired $3,000. Then there was a delay and the money was returned to his bank account. (Building trust)
This happened one more time. Ryan always has his money returned.
Next it was $3,000 plus an additional $12,000 since the returns were coming in huge!
The S&P 500 sucks! 70/30 is for old people!! I have a hot woman sending incredible photos, with just a hint of cleavage.
Ryan even had a portal where he could watch his profits grow on a daily basis. His original investment of $15,000 grew to $30,000 in two months!! Incredible times!
Valerie said she could get Ryan staked in an ETF for an additional $35,000 investment! Boom! Ryan quickly liquidated his company 401k, paid the penalty and taxes and sent Valerie the funds.

A few more months passed and the staking account increased parabolically! $50,000 turned in to $135,000 like magic!
His account value grew quickly. He and Valerie started planning their trip to Turkey, Italy and Montenegro. It was a dream come true!
But things quickly changed when Ryan asked for a distribution to pay for travel tickets. It seems he had to contribute even MORE to get the funds returned. It was an SEC rule apparently. She wanted a total of $70,000 investment to get his money returned in 3 days.
Ryan's tone must have upset Valerie because now she won't return his FB messages. He can't get through to customer service via the web portal.
Ryan has been scammed. No money. No 401k. No companion. Even worse he has to sell his house of 35 years to pay the taxes and penalties from the early distribution of his 401k.
Don't ever respond to a social media Message promising travel, love, connection and juicy market returns.
