At next week's Live Slam '17 Internet of Things Conference in RTP, NC, we will be presenting on how to secure swipes instead of pins and passwords for smart things. We will discuss how IoT access is replacing mobile access in 2017 just as mobile access replaced web access in 2007 over a decade ago. Now gestures and swipes are replacing passwords and authentication in terms of user experience.
It is the simplest naive practices that lead to the worst threat vectors. One wrong swipe doesn’t have to be about your likes/dislikes of dating app on your phone. The wrong swipe might be about swiping your wearable incorrectly, copying your touch id, or swiping a debit card at the wrong kiosk to inadvertently permit hackers to steal your identity or PII data.
Our session will take real examples of threat vectors and show how fraud from inside-out threat is posing to be a greater calamity than advanced persistent threats or outside-in threats.
