Here’s a headline/message format everybody reading this can use. In going through my advertising swipe file the other day, I came across this ad (picture of the ad is in the comments) for The Stuttering Foundation and immediately saw it’s applicability for mattress retailer marketing, since it goes to the core of a common human trait—that crosses ALL industries and personality types— inertia and procrastination.
Here are a few to kickstart your creative process:
"There are many ways to wake up refreshed... tossing and turning on an old mattress is not one of them."
"There are many ways to alleviate sleep discomfort... lying on a flat bed is not one of them."
"There are many ways to prevent morning stiffness... using any old pillow is not one of them."
"There are many ways to add luxury to your bed... settling for low-quality sheets is not one of them."
"There are many ways to invest in your health... neglecting your sleep environment is not one of them."
This is the power of having your “marketing radar” on all the time, which means being on the lookout for ideas you can tweak for your business.
