Trained in Sweden and in Hollywood, Dan Wahlberg will be performing the character of an American millionaire in Bruno Pischiutta’s film project? The Trilogy

It is my pleasure to introduce the readers to?Dan Wahlberg , one of Europe’s finest actors who, for some time now, has been a member of the?Global Film Actors Agency , and who will play the role of Richard, an American millionaire in London on business, in my current film project,?The Trilogy.

Dan’s life story is extremely interesting and shows how it is sometimes possible, with a certain background and past, to launch an international acting career even at a mature age.

Indeed, Dan Wahlberg, born in Kiruna, a mining town well above the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden, only started acting professionally in his early 40s. Before that, he worked for 22 years as a journalist for Swedish newspapers, covering sports, crime, business and politics. The transition from journalism to acting may not be as problematic as one might think because, like he says, “as a journalist you have to report stories as close to the truth as possible, while in acting you tell true stories in imaginary circumstances”.

He is known for performing in numerous projects in both the US and Sweden. He starred as an abusive stepfather in the acclaimed Hollywood independent drama?Don’t Cry For Me, directed by Louie Pozos, and played several other characters such as the sleazy yoga guru in the feature film/web series?Over the Rainbow, the vicious Sir Ox in the short horror comedy? The Cannibal King?and the transvestite Kelly in the short film?Dancing Shadows.

It was not until 2012 that Dan enrolled in his first acting course in a small Swedish town called Burtr?sk. There, he learnt the basics of acting. It was a very challenging time for him; he acted in 13 theatre productions that year.

From there, he underwent an additional year of theatre training at Stockholms Element?ra Teaterskola, before enrolling in UCLA Extension’s Acting Program in 2014. He also participated in a number of projects with the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.

Most recently, Dan Wahlberg was involved in the new internationally produced TV series by Warner Bros about the life of Swedish ice hockey legend B?rje Salming, who was also born in Kiruna.

He was trained in the acting techniques of Meisner and Konstatin Stanislavski, both in Sweden and at UCLA. Dan uses Meisner’s technique in his acting, especially in dialogues and scenes with other actors, and in the general preparation of each role.

For my part, I can say that I had no hesitation when I chose Dan Wahlberg to play the character of Richard in the first film of my current project,?The Trilogy. This complex character has to interact with several others in the film and especially with British actress Stephanie Tripp who pays the starring role, and lead actor Martin Nadin who plays Anthony.

I like Dan’s practical philosophy regarding acting. He says that, when he receives a script, he immediately starts working with the character 24/7 and doesn’t leave him until the film is finished. His goal is to always bring the character to life throughout the process, no matter how big or small my role is.

And I also like what he says about direction when he states that being directed is an important part of the job. Dan believes that the more input there is, the better the conditions for creating a memorable and living character, and that from great preparation and direction come great performances.

Dan recently filmed with lead actor Valter Skarsk?rd in the upcoming Warner Bros produced TV-series about Swedish ice hockey legend B?rje Salming.

He is quoted as stating: “I am very excited to start working in this unique project; the themes of complicated relationships and different identities are something we can all relate to”.

I am looking forward to direct Dan Wahlberg. I am sure it will be a pleasure, that together we can do good work, and that applying the rigour of the Stanislavski method, together with the imagination suggested by Meisner, Dan will find ways to greatly enrich the character of Richard and offer a great interpretation.?D!
