Sustaining Book Inspiration

When we get that first hit that we want to write a book, it can be daunting. First off, book inspiration is not concerned with life timing. You could get the impetus to write a book right in the busiest season of your business. You are at first illuminated by the notion but then a few fears set in:

  1. What if I have no idea how to write a book?
  2. What happens if I start to write the book and can't finish?
  3. What if no one else thinks my idea is as brilliant as I do?

Sounds like I am in your brain, right? Having helped over 40 authors illuminate and discover their narrative, I initially spoke to many of them in this early phase of understanding they should be authors. If I felt they were not 100% ready to commit to the nine yards of writing book (which is essentially willingness to enough of a degree to prioritize time and resources), I would suggest that they start to make notes of how the book ideas tie in with some of their future platforms, programs and expansions the book would ignite. Seeing the potential for a pathway with the book for some folks is needed to justify the investment. I have clients such as Master Coach Gretchen Hydo who took her idea for a book about women and their secrets, created a ten step system to break secrets and now is offering a 6 month intensive Secret Breaking System for $22k a year. Her book is not even out yet. The point is, she had some of these ideas coming into the book writing process, and while our focus was incredible content and writing, she knew she had this to launch shortly after we finished the last draft.

Get excited and curious, not daunted and freaked out about your idea you may be on the verge of becoming an author. Coaches like myself can help you get going, be brilliant and go over the finish line. Help yourself to get ready by doing some future vision work.

Here are a few resources that can help you to understand your book brand, but also start putting some of your content out there to see if it has legs. entrepreneur.com/article/421964 and this talk from the Author's Guild on building newsletters. https://www.authorsguild.org/whats-new/seminars-member-events/money-matters-the-road-to-financial-literacy/newsletters-building-a-community-you-can-own/
