SUSTAINABLE DELIVERY
Luana Ozemela
Chief Sustainability Officer & Vice President of Impact and Sustainability at iFood, UNICEF Advisor, Bloomberg 500 Most Influential of Latin America
At the iFood strategic planning meeting, I presented results and expectations from the social impact area, reinforcing our commitment to generating value both for the company and the ecosystem, considering the dual dividend.
Our strategies are aligned with eight of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on three pillars: the future of work, education, and the environment.
Here are some results from these pillars:
Education
We are among the companies that invest the most in education, accumulating 40 million reais invested until today. Additionally, we have managed to educate 6 thousand delivery workers in high school, 12 thousand in technology, and employed 5 thousand people in tech.
Environment
We have managed to avoid 2 thousand tons of plastic in deliveries and 21 thousand tons of carbon emissions. Additionally, we counted 194 million deliveries using clean modes of transportation.
Future of Work
With a focus on well-being and safety, we have already achieved a 25% reduction in violence cases against delivery workers in Rio de Janeiro. We can attribute this result to our campaigns promoting respect and appreciation.
Our vision of sustainable delivery is based on generating exponential impact through scalable initiatives that allow for continuous expansion, showing how companies can generate economic, social, and environmental value for society as a whole.

10 个月Incredible! Luana, I love theses that are ahead of their time. Talking to people who were involved in the iFood activities you mentioned, we spent hours envisioning an "Ifood Social" where for every kilometer driven the delivery men and women would earn a share in the company's profits. A utopia, yes. But I believe that in time we will see tech-social organizations emerging as an option for customers and enabling the acceleration of social mobility. In this utopia, the company's profits would go back to the company's base in different proportions than they do today. In your strategic ideal, is this an achievable utopia? I wish you all the strength and energy to continue your journey of transformation! Viva!
