Sustainability in Tanzania-Earth Day 2023

Sustainability is at the core of all Wine To Water programs. Working closely with community leaders, we take great care in understanding the needs of local ecosystems. In honor of Earth Day, April 22nd, here are a few ways that our programs in East Africa serve communities sustainably.

Many projects in East Africa are near the Serengeti National Park. Understanding cohabitation between people and wildlife is key when creating clean water systems that support conservation efforts.

  • Spring water harvesting recognizes wildlife patterns and preserves wildlife’s access to water.
  • Systems are designed to minimize wildlife conflicts, such as an elephant trampling a community water pipeline.
  • Electricity-free technology like solar panels are used for continuous, long-lasting power.
  • Water source protection and water use education is part of community projects.

At Wine To Water, we are going Beyond Water to provide comprehensive and sustainable clean water solutions that support the health and longevity of all life. Join us today by visiting our website, wtw.org.
