?? Egypt, the host of the next United Nations summit on climate change (COP27) has promised to push countries to make good on their pledges to sharply reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Egypt will also facilitate non-adversarial talks on compensation to developing countries for global warming impacts - and even allow climate activists to protest. Read more
??According to the new refuse management system in Saudi Arabia, 106 million tons of?waste?are expected to be treated by 2035. The Saudi waste sector is aiming to divert 85 percent of the industrial?hazardous waste?from landfills through?recycling?and treatment. ?? Coca-Cola will stop using the?plastic?handles on multipacks of soft drinks and water in Dutch supermarkets. The plastic handles are made of reinforced plastic, which makes it less recyclable. The omission of the handles improves the recyclability of the rest of the packaging and with this adjustment in the packaging 550,000 kilos of plastic is more recyclable. This will also lead to an annual saving of approximately 40,000 kilos of plastic. Read more
