???An updated report from Greenpeace USA maintains that no plastics in the U.S. actually meet the definition of recyclable and calls for companies to switch to other materials. The report?argues that no type of plastic packaging in the U.S. meets the definition of recyclable used by the Ellen MacArthur Foundations’ New Plastics Economy Initiative, which is a 30% recycling rate in a region of 400 million people. ???Last month, Carlsberg Group announced that its paper-based bottle would soon be available for consumer trials across Europe. In line with its?#CarbonReductionTargets, the?#FibreBottle?is seen as a viable alternative to the carbon-intensive?#SingleUseGlass?bottles. Given the recyclability of cans and reusability of refillable glass bottles,?#RGBs, and the large-scale?#recycling?infrastructures that are in place for these, the Fibre Bottle will complement these as an additional option. ???According to a new report, the UK is lagging behind other major European countries in the recycling of glass bottles. The analysis was published today by Zero Waste Europe in conjunction with Eunomia Research & Consulting . Britain’s closed loop #recycling rates for #glass stand at just 43%, compared to 61% in France and 77% in Germany. Read more

???Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has announced the launch of the Regional Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) in collaboration with Saudi Tadawul Group with a SR500 million ($133 million) capital. #VCM which was created as an initiative to reduce emissions and tackle #ClimateChange, will help facilitate a carbon credit auction to be held at the 6th Future Investment Initiative summit.
