The Fastest Carbon Dioxide Increase in History: Recorded from Antarctica
Scientists from the US and St Andrews University have documented the fastest carbon dioxide increase in the last 50,000 years by studying ancient ice in Antarctica.

he findings show that the rate of increase in carbon dioxide, driven by human emissions, is “unprecedented.” Researchers found that the level of carbon dioxide increased by about 14 million parts over 55 years, with the largest increases occurring in just five to six years.

Paris 2024: Olympic Excitement and Climate Impact
The excitement for the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Arkas Line is the logistics sponsor of the Turkish National Sailing Team, is growing!
At the same time, warnings about the risks posed by the increasing extreme temperatures due to the climate crisis are also increasing. According to “The Rings of Fire” report, temperatures in Paris are expected to reach 34o degrees Celsius, with humidity reaching 70%. This situation could pose serious health risks for athletes. In 2023, temperatures exceeding 40o in France resulted in the deaths of more than 5,000 people.

Within the framework of the theme set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the humanitarian dimensions and social responsibilities in maritime transport gain significance.
