Sustainability - It's more than just a buzzword at Briggs

Whether it’s the latest electric car, energy efficient kitchen utilities or lithium ion powered forklifts, the quest for greater sustainability is all around us. Businesses are being challenged to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability not only by their consumers, but by their industry competitors. No longer is sustainability a buzzword, it’s a reality for businesses of all sizes and from every industry.

This includes Briggs Equipment, where the process of implementing a series of long-term, ongoing actions is well underway. These include, but are not limited to:

·??????Planting a tree for each truck we sell.

·??????Phasing out all petrol and diesel vehicles from our company car fleet.

·??????Installing electric charging stations throughout Briggs locations.?

·??????The introduction of solar and wind power energy generation at our locations

·??????Inclusion of this environmental commitment in our business strategy

·??????Maintaining and developing our status as a Carbon Neutral business

·??????Ongoing development of our infrastructure platforms to support this sustainability commitment

This open and transparent approach has provided our customers with the confidence and trust that we are committed to delivering on our sustainability objectives. Whether it’s guidance on choosing the appropriate power source for a materials handling fleet, switching from diesel to electric or support with upcoming legislation changes, we have the expertise and experience at Briggs to support your business.

In the past year alone, we have helped customers with their response to the removal of red diesel, using a tailored approach to match their requirements, budget and infrastructure. We know that the UK Government has set out detailed targets to reach net zero by 2050, which will inevitably result in more measures like the red diesel exemption being introduced and further financial pain for those companies who aren’t prepared.

It's more crucial than ever that your materials handling equipment supplier is serious about sustainability and capable of delivering you the support, guidance and solutions that you need to effectively reduce your environmental commitment and build a fuel strategy that lasts.
