At Granite, our annual Sustainability Reports are more than a reporting exercise—they are how we share our collective identity and aspirations with our stakeholders. Our Annual Reports tell our investors about our financial performance, and our marketing materials tell our customers about our services and capabilities. But our Sustainability Reports serve a broader function—they tell the world who we are, and who we want to be for all our stakeholders. If you want to go deeper to know who we are at Granite, read our sustainability reports. Each year, we re-introduce ourselves to the public and share our evolving expectations for ourselves and our aspirations for our company’s future.???

This concept of leveraging our sustainability program to share our deeper identity goes beyond just how we tell our story—it gets at how we include our stakeholders and give them a voice in shaping our story. Stakeholder engagement (the process by which an organization involves people who may be affected by the decisions it makes) is a cornerstone of sustainability. Sustainability demands that we engage with our employees, investors, partners, and the communities where we work to understand their priorities and build strategies that address them. All our stakeholders are welcome partners in our sustainability efforts.??
Our sustainability program is meant to give our employees a voice in shaping the future of Granite. We want to hear from our teams about what matters to them, and what they want the future to look like. In our safety program, we talk about “Speak Up/Listen Up,” and our sustainability program aims to apply this idea more broadly across our whole company culture. We want to encourage people to speak up about our culture, our strategies, and how we are shaping the future of our company.??
