Sustainability for the Future !

Victories are times to reflect – to reflect on how deep rooted our ethics are and how deeply they impact our dream for survivability and sustainability. The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function. BUT those who believe in their potentiality without any compromise unshackled by conventional thoughts, are those that blaze new paths – they are the true winners. 

India's remarkable cricket victory yesterday was also a victory for diversity and inclusion - achieved by boys from most humble backgrounds. At another level, the Dubai Expo2020 with its incredible visionary persistence is becoming a game-changer. It seeks to converge the world of sustainability, and commitments with the universe of innovation. 

Just when solutions available appear limited, this grand golden gate of new resilient world welcomes all of us. It seeks to save humanity, restore pluralism, diversity and tolerance – to save the Earth's biodiversity (other than the preservation of natural environments) in reserves large enough to maintain wild populations sustainably. 

While only Nature can serve as the planetary ark, I strongly believe in acts of will - that humans might yet achieve the social utility to overcome; that the power of utilitarianism may yet restore our social and ethical sustainability – even from future unforeseen new strains of Covid. Looking ahead, nothing can constrain our power of imaginations, neither ghosts of 19th century colonial imperialism nor 20th century liberalism or socialism, nor negative consequences of 21st century automated technism.
