#Sustainability as #ESG theme

If you believe that you are surrounded by data, but starved for insights, dial me up.
Now that most people have heard about the #ESG theme taking over the #business initiatives in 2023-2024, let's try and understand how Sustainability, as a theme, cuts across #environmental #Social #SustainableGovernence.
The #ESG framework that Big4 is working on primarily derives from Sustainability.
Sustainability Key Performance Indicators ( #KPIs) are a set of metrics used to evaluate the performance of an organization's sustainability efforts. The specific KPIs used may vary depending on the industry and type of organization, but some common examples of sustainability KPIs include #reporting and #monitoring on the #ITCarbonFootprint #Overallworkplaceconsumption indexes.
We can also integrate as:
领英推è
- Carbon footprint: This measures an organization's greenhouse gas emissions, which can be used to track progress in reducing carbon emissions.
- Energy consumption: This KPI tracks the amount of energy an organization uses, including electricity and fuel consumption.
- Waste generation and recycling: This KPI measures the amount of waste an organization generates and the percentage that is recycled or reused.
- Water usage: This measures the amount of water an organization uses and can be used to track progress in reducing water consumption.
- Social and ethical responsibility: This KPI tracks an organization's efforts to promote social and moral responsibility, including initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, labor standards, and human rights.
- Product sustainability: This KPI measures the sustainability of an organization's products, including their environmental impact and social responsibility.
- Supply chain sustainability: This KPI measures an organization's efforts to promote sustainability throughout its supply chain, including responsible sourcing and supplier diversity initiatives.
These KPIs can help organizations track their sustainability performance and identify improvement areas. By setting targets and monitoring progress against these KPIs, organizations can work towards becoming more sustainable and environmentally responsible.
Now comes the role of Consultants & Systems integrators: all the measurement & monitoring would require technologies in IoT, Enterprise Systems garnering data. SI's capability would bring around Integrations to leverage #measurement, #dashboarding, and #reporting, and consultants would be working on doing a #benchmark or assisting clients in understanding means and methods of #measurements.
