The Sustainability / ESG Communications Resources Takeover
Is it me or is the drumbeat of noise surrounding the imminent start of COP27 in Egypt, this Sunday November 06, is a bit of a damp squib in comparison to the loud noise that surrounded COP26?
It may be a case that sustainability and net zero news is being drowned out by the neverending political upheaval dominating the news agenda here in the UK. But to me, it should very much be on the top of all of our agendas. Well, at least it looks like net zero is going to be viewed in a slightly more positive light with the arrival of our latest new PM.
Anyway, I've decided to do a bit of a newsletter takeover to share resources around sustainability and ESG as I think it's something that we all need a bit of a hand figuring out.
The built environment is directly responsible for 25% of the total UK carbon footprint, and therefore has a critical role to play in the national transition to Net Zero.?

Coming across this stat around COP26 last year made me stop in my tracks. There's a lot that the built environment industry can do to reduce carbon emissions and help to reduce the impacts of climate change
As a built environment marketing consultant, it is becoming more and more apparent that all communications and marketing professionals need to be up to speed on how to communicate sustainability matters honestly, openly, and clearly. It is no longer a 'nice to have' that people can hand to a couple of specific specialists as it should touch and be a part of all the communications and activity that we deliver.
I'm not claiming to be a sustainability communications expert, but there is so much more that we could all be doing as a profession to support the firms that we work with to communicate better around climate change. If we don't, well let's be honest, we're all doomed.
I've built this page as a community of resources that I've found useful and stories that have interested me over the past few months so please do bookmark it and share it with those who you think will find it valuable as I'll keep on adding to it.
Find something useful that you think should be added? Drop me a line mailto:[email protected] and I'll add it. This is one worth saving for a later date and if you think others will find it useful please do share it with them.
Regards
Ayo
