Suspicious Puddle Leads to Water Line Savings for California Homeowner

A water line repair is made simple for a California homeowner with a HomeServe emergency repair plan.

On a mild day in June, Santa Rosa, California, homeowner Paul B. decided it was a good day to do some work around the outside of his house. This included cleaning his gutters and pulling some weeds from a particularly pesky area of his front lawn. It wasn’t long before he noticed a spot on the lawn that was saturated with water. Every time he’d take a step over it, water would flood out from the ground.?

“HomeServe made this experience as simple as they could for me from selecting the contractor all the way through to the repair.”

The very next day, that wet spot turned into a visible puddle, and Paul realized he had a larger problem on his hands than he had initially thought. He knew that the puddle was suspiciously close to where his water line ran from his house to the street and had noticed a recent drop in the water pressure in his kitchen sink. His next step was calling HomeServe. He had enrolled his home in several repair plans just a year prior, including coverage on his water line.?

“When I received a letter in the mail from HomeServe informing me of available repair plans last year, it really got me thinking,” Paul told us. “My home is old, which means my water and sewer lines are likely just as old. You never know when something will decide to give out – and that’s why I decided to sign up.”?

After getting in touch with a HomeServe repair specialist, Paul was connected to one of HomeServe’s local and reliable contractors, Silverado Plumbing. The technician dug down into the puddle to find a leak in Paul’s water line, just as he had suspected. The good news was that the rest of the line was in good shape. After replacing the compromised section of the line, the job was deemed complete, saving Paul and his family over $650. As far as the reduced water pressure in the kitchen sink went, the technician was able to easily see that changing the faucet fixture would solve the problem. While this diagnosis was not part of his coverage, Paul appreciated the advice and did so the next day – and the water pressure returned almost instantly.??

“Silverado Plumbing did a great job assessing my leak situation with the main water line and making the proper repair. Everything went smoothly without any issues,” said Paul. “I’m very pleased with the work performed, and how personable and professionally kind they were. This first experience with making a claim with HomeServe has been a positive one - HomeServe made this experience as simple as they could for me from selecting the contractor all the way through to the repair.”??
