This property is pretty much the only property in my portfolio that I did not get as a deal. Why? It was bought for love. Oh but I did get £1.5k off the price and the furniture thrown in, does that count? Nope, I thought not.

???????????? ?????????? ???? ???? ?????????????? ???? ???? ?????? in property, and likely yours too. To look after the people you love. It was bought when my 17 year old went to college, and provided a safe haven for him during his fledgling times launching into adulthood before he took off for sunnier climes in Barcelona after graduating! We had one weekend to buy a location within a 4 block radius and we viewed 13 houses together. As he said ‘It’s fun mum but draggy fun’. This flat is 15 mins from my parents house (which is why I keep it. It is rented out but who knows if having a second base close to my parents just may be useful later in life). He used to go to see his grandparents once a week, and get fed by my mum, who then sent him home with enough food for the rest of the week as a student (spag bol) and her famous lemon cake, which he loved. So it kept him both independent and safe, and was a lovely period when he could be close to his grandparents while I was in Bristol. Every summer he would come down to Bristol and work in my property business, learning the ropes as a student summer job

With beautiful high ceilings and period features it is a lovely flat in Dennistoun, Glasgow just a mile away from the city centre. It was bought for £133,500, and it is probably only worth £135k - £140k (not only was it not bought discounted but it also has not had much capital growth!!!!) – Some would say it was a bad investment but for me it was the perfect investment for what I wanted.
