This month we are not just featuring one survivor story but a WHOLE book of them.

We are so excited to announce that we have just launched our very first book.

In Their Own Words...?Domestic Abuse Survivor Stories & Self Help From Women's Aid North East Lincs.

Within the book, you will find a collection of poems and short stories from the victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

But this book is more than just a collection of narratives; it's a tool for healing and empowerment.

Interspersed throughout are self-help exercises and interactive pages, inviting you to reflect on your own experiences too.

From journal prompts to mindfulness exercises, each activity is designed to empower survivors to reclaim their voices and their lives and talk about what matters to them.

We would love you to buy a copy and support the work we do.

COMING SOON to our charity shops across Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

Celebrating International Womens Day

What an amazing day we had for International Women's Day.

We had 32 women and 24 volunteers who came together for a day of pampering, empowerment and connection.?

A day dedicated to feeling amazing both inside and out.

Here's what some of the women said...

“I have never had anything like this for myself”

“I stood at the door and daren’t come in, I am so glad I did”

“I LOVE celebrating women, this is such a safe space for us” “I felt completely relaxed having that massage”

“People are so kind, thank you so much for organising this”

One week later – “ thank you so much for my bag of treats, I made a drink and sat on my bed crying, going through every item in there, so much thought and care was put into making them”

And our CEO Denise Farman said...

'We always do something each year to celebrate International Women’s Day. This year was so emotional with so many women experiencing some fabulous feel-good treatments, some of them for the first time. Thank you so much to everyone who gave up their day at work to help us provide such an amazing day."

Willows Shop Celebrates It's First Birthday

This month our Willows Shop Celebrated it's 1st Birthday and what an amazing year its been!

We decorated the window to celebrate our birthday?and celebrate International Women's Day, which also fell that week.

Since opening 12 months ago, on average, there have been 30 volunteers per week working there, receiving and processing around 50 bags of donations per day.

The support from the local community has been fantastic and the success of the shop has been totally down to the volunteers and customers.

Children's Voices

Here's a little look at what our children have been up to in The Hideout over the last few weeks!

We've been so busy with Valentine's, Mother's Day, and Mental Health Awareness and where there is a day, there is always a fun activity to support it.

Our children's work is integral to everything we do! Working hard to build happy, resilient children is such an important part of the abuse recovery process.

REMEMBER - We couldn't do the work we do with the children if it wasn't for our Club 400 Lottery - For just £1 per month you can join.?
