Surviving as a young scientist in Brazil

Science is very much driven by early career researchers, and globally in many countries, they suffer from short term contracts, reduced levels of support and poor working conditions. Without proper investment, these young scientists will at best struggle to stay 'on board' or leave science altogether. However, this is not only detrimental to these colleagues but also to the scientific developments esp. of the emerging economies of the global South. A short perspective paper well worth a read.
