Surviving May and Social Media Updates

Surviving May and Social Media Updates

Welcome to May, you've survived another month! Think we all deserve a treat, or a medal.

So, what are we talking about in our May Newsletter??

Let's talk social media updates, team updates and anything else we desire! First let's look at the latest news.

?? SOCIAL MEDIA UPDATES

LinkedIn

?? Search for Collaborative articles directly from the Search bar.

They are listed as a Content type when searching for posts. If you're looking for suitable ones to contribute to, also use the 'Date posted' filter to bring up the most recent ones as the fewer contributions that have already been made, the more visibility for you. But just be careful to choose ones for the categories you are aiming to get a badge for as there doesn't seem to be much benefit in a scattergun approach.

This new feature seems to be at the expense of Articles and newsletters, the category for which has now disappeared.

?? Company pages messaging upgrades

Many pages have had the message function for around a year now, but it's now being made available to all pages. However, you can't display both the Message and Custom buttons at once anymore. You need to decide which is most important.

It still seems that if you're not a follower of a page you can't message it. But there's no stand down time between following and being able to message.

In the second change, it will soon be possible to message FROM company pages, not something available until now.?

?? Image link edit for page posts

This has been reported as new but some lucky people have had this for some time. Either way, it's worth knowing about.

When you type or copy a link into a post, it brings through the image from the link and displays that at the bottom of your post unless you choose to add an image or video.

This change allows you to swap the image attached to the link with one from your files – even a gif if you want – without losing the link itself.

?? Threads

Threads has been around for over a year now and it's gone from strength to strength! If 18–34-year-olds are your demographic, it's definitely worth checking out.?

?? SOCIALJEMS

April was awesome.

Which we're grateful for because awesome means we're busy! We've had new clients teaming up with us, and old clients asking for more services. It's great news, but we won't hide the fact it's been mental. Afterall, we're a small team (for now), but speaking of the team, let's see what Jem and Sarah have been up to.

JEM!

Jem met with the lovely Amy and Abbie for a spa day, she loved spending the day with her tribe as she says “your vibe attracts your tribe” and she finds spending the day with other strong confident amazing women she admires so powerful.?

Jem is also going to be heading to Bulgaria for a week leaving Sarah in charge! She's been busy with the Summer SocialGames that will be held at Mad Frans in Leeds on the 6th June. We've taken on another two clients and she's even working on offering website services and coaching on a larger scale. Go Jem!

SARAH!

Sarah's going to be in charge while Jem's away and she's excited and happy Jem is taking a break. Sarah's also currently house hunting to buy her first house and we're all really proud of her. You've got this, Sarah!
