Surviving The Holidays in this Divisive and Polarizing World: Be an Eclectic: A person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
Instead of being quick to express your opinion, ask the other person a non-threatening question and engage them in conversation.
Or, compliment the host or hostess on something in their home or served with the meal.
Even, share a fun memory from your common history.
If someone asks us your opinion on something that might be incendiary, don’t take the bait!
Be civil, have fun, and circulate.
Then, if you ‘connect’ with someone get together with them off-line (at another time) and share your common interests.
They may even become a customer or client of your business.
If you have nothing in common with someone, then leave them alone and seek out those that you can have fun with.
