Survived, Yet not what happened yesterday

Survived, Yet not what happened yesterday

It was a beautiful morning in the Shaolin temple, and the young monk was excited about the visit to the village with his elderly master to gather some herbs.?

The journey was long, and a few times, they will take a rest and pray for it to be pleasant.

When they approach a river that divides the village and the forest, They realized there wasn't a bridge to help them cross.?

Upon arriving at the crossing, there stands a young girl afraid to cross the river on its own, and the young monk who had never been in close enough proximity to a woman rejected the idea of his master to help the young lady.?

The master looked at the young lady and asked her if she needed any help crossing??

Jar dropped the young monk, standing there with anger, thinking of the disciplines at the temple.?

The elderly master helped the young lady by carrying her across the river and told the young monk to follow suit. The journey continued, and still with anger, the young monk quietly went by with his thoughts about what had happened in the river, finally when they found a stand under a tree and sit to rest their foot and have some water.?

The elderly master noticed that the young monk was bothered by something, and he inquired, 'What seems to bother you, young monk?' _The young monk in fury, replied, 'how can you do such a thing, you have noticed you just sinned right?'?

The master with a smile on his face replied, 'are you still carrying that young lady because I am not?'?

What trash are you carrying that is holding you back, and making your life miserable??

Let's jump in.?

One of the greatest challenges we face in life is to resist the temptation to allow what happened in the past to determine who we are today.?

Like the young monk in the story, a lot if not many are plagued all their lives by memories of failed marriages, broken promises, and many faults in their lives... They have allowed past events to consume what's left of them in the present.?

These negative impressions armed with memories are strengthened by how we keep rehearsing our past failures and wounds over and over again.?

Stop the music, you're dancing alone in the hallway, and you're waiting by yourself. You've invested a massive amount of attention to areas of the past that are dead and possess no ability to reward you.?

Now its time to let go

Letting go means confronting the invisible emotional barriers: bringing them into your awareness and then struggling against them.?

It means challenging irrational, unproductive thinking until you get your head on straight; it means facing up to your fear and then calling on your courage and your character to face it down.

In addition, it means confronting your passionate attachment to a past love and reducing it from a boulder to a pebble. Put the pebble in your pocket as a cherished reminder, and leave room in your heart for something new.

To help you Rebuild

By letting go of the past, you create space for a new future, and clinging to the old negative, you are likely to repeat the same mistakes.?

I understand that all this is more difficult in practice than in words. Especially, when you have just recovered from the pain or are still trying to survive the storm in your own life.?

Therefore, I will give some tips that help me:

  • Learn to be grateful.?

This won’t solve all the problems, but it will help to change the mood. You will notice the good things in life that you usually take for granted.

  • Change the environment.?

It has a very strong effect on feelings and behavior. It is not necessary to burn everything related to the past (although sometimes you want to). Let your environment personify everything that you want to become, and not what you were before.

  • Talk to a therapist.?

I think it needs to be done at least once in my life. A psychotherapist is a coach, only not for the body, but the mind. It will help you notice recurring patterns in life. And he is also objective, you can tell him everything, knowing that he will not judge.

  • Take care of yourself.?

Treat yourself to something pleasant to close one chapter of life and start another. And regularly take care of your mental balance. For example, go in for sports, travel, start new hobbies.
