Survival of Software Engineer in AI revolution

Hi again, hope you all are doing well. Previous recap: "Also, I want to be a part of a bigger organization, I want to work with the best engineers, and I want to talk with international clients. So now it’s clear what I want to be, but now why do I want this? So, it’s a long story that I will discuss tomorrow."

So, the story is when I was in my intermediate, I chose pre-engineering without doing research. But, you know, at that time no one was available to guide me. If I asked someone for advice, they would just say, "Do engineering, and you’ll get a job." Others' sons had jobs paying in lakhs, and for most middle-class families, that was considered the peak of salary success. But I didn’t want to be an engineer because I didn’t understand chemistry—the chemistry with reactions and chemical formulas. I didn’t get any concept of it in college; teachers would just come, teach, and leave, and I would sit through classes blindly and go home. So things were going wrong day by day. At that point, I didn’t know what I wanted to do in the future. I only knew, "Jo parhay ga usay he job mile gi" (The one who studies will get a job). It’s a concept pushed into our minds by our environment, and my thoughts just revolved around these ideas. So I claim here that the education system of Pakistan, from nursery to higher education, is one of the biggest problem (for those who have no guidance. Not for 100% but we have some but high percentage).

After years in school and two years in college, I realized that if I had worked at my family’s business, I might have been able to generate income that would have been good for my family. I might have earned even more, but who knows—it’s just a thought. The question is, why do we all go to school? Do we gain skills to earn passive income as a 10th-grade graduate? No. As a 12th-grade graduate, can we earn something? No. As a BS graduate, can we earn? The answer is a BIG No. So what is our responsibility here? I criticize our education system, but on the other side, we are also to blame because we know these things yet do nothing about them.

For instance, if someone goes to school, they should learn something, and after 12th grade, they should know where to move. Instead of following exactly what universities deliver, they need to go further. For example, if someone learns a course in DSA, they should have projects to show their DSA expertise. Likewise, people in other fields need to pursue their paths early. What is our generation doing? We go to university and, well…you know what I mean. I’m not criticizing 100%, just showing the reality for most of our generation. They treat university like a picnic. We need to make things right. We are responsible for our education system, for our country, for our mistakes, and for everything we do. So, wherever you are, whether in any condition, you are responsible for that.

So, what am I doing in this? I am in my 6th semester now, and I have major courses like Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and Mobile Application Development. In this semester, I must work on projects in these areas. I’ll show you my projects and share day-to-day knowledge, what I do and what I learn. Let’s see how consistent and dedicated I am over the next 4-5 months. We’ll track my progress in the 6th semester and see if it leads me closer to joining a top organization. I’ll do my best, and I trust that Allah, the best of creators, knows what is best for me. If you didn't like the design, I totally get it—I’m still learning and improving my design skills every day. Let's see where this journey takes us!. Hope to meet you again. If you've made it to the end, I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! What do you think this article conveys?
