Survey Shows Lack of Civics Knowledge In The United States

Very few American have knowledge of civics in the United States. A survey by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation has found that only 13% of Americans knew that the US Constitution was ratified in 1788 and fewer than half knew the US Supreme Court has nine justices. A report earlier this year showed that only nine states and the District of Columbia require civics courses in high school.
