Surround Your Work with Passion

There’s so much pressure today to “do something you’re passionate about”. Everywhere we look there are YouTube and Instagram influencers who are ditching corporate jobs and making a living doing what they love. It’s caused us all to feel inadequate, like we’re all working jobs that have no purpose in them, and our roles are far less attractive because we’re not traveling the world, biking across the country, or starting a fashion blog.

I’m not living my best beach life every day or renovating old bungalows (seriously, my next life though, please!), but I’m fortunate that I landed in a career I genuinely enjoy. I do get to be part of a pretty amazing marketing team, be creative, and spend my days working with influencers or focusing on our next big product launch. But, I owe most of my happiness to the industry I’ve luckily found myself in: cheese. If there’s one thing that’s certain in the cheese industry, it’s that people are passionate. It’s taught me that even if I’m not using my passions to make money (We can’t all be HGTV stars, I guess), you can be fulfilled by surrounding yourself with passion.

You can be fulfilled by surrounding yourself with passion.

At Emmi Roth we craft award-winning cheese (including the best in the world!) with milk from local family farms that make up the lifeblood of their communities. I get to work with cheesemakers who love what they do, people who truly care about the food we put out in the world, colleagues who get excited about successes, a network of chefs, makers and experts who support each other, and generations of families who keep tradition alive in a world full of change.

Being among passion makes me excited about what I do, and that’s enough to make me feel like I’m part of something special.
