We don't have a crystal ball, but we know as we approach the holiday season that it'll soon be time to start thinking about how to truly make 2018 your most successful year yet.
There isn't a single entrepreneur out there that can't benefit from some extra inspiration and motivation. We can all learn something by following successful individuals.
Let’s consider how you can help support your career and business in the year ahead to make it your best yet.
First, lets start with being kind.
When we incorporate kindness into our businesses, we become more than just another brand; we become a stronger network of people striving to accomplish a shared goal.
When we practice kindness, we change for the better — and so does our world.
Second, we must be courageous.
Life can be a lonely journey at times, and especially a life aimed at success. If you want to succeed personally or professionally, you must develop the willingness to move through your fears and toward your goals and dreams.
You have to become courageous.
Winners have two types of courage. The courage to take action and the courage to endure – to persevere – even when we fail.
It’s not just about having the courage to persevere in the face of any failure to ultimately succeed, but more importantly you need to find the courage to ALLOW yourself to succeed.
Successful people think big and then they make some very wise choices. Because when it comes down to it, success is a choice.
When we are kind, we can often act with courage and we display compassion.
Compassion involves an authentic desire to help others, and having a positive effect on others elicits a positive emotional response.
According to Ma's love quotient model, you measure success not by your worth (or company's worth) but by the compassionate modus operandi of how many problems you solved and how many people you helped in the world.
Ma says, "You can become a money machine, but what's the use of that? If you're not contributing to the rest of the world, there's no LQ...your love is you have to be principled. That's the bottom line."
As my fellow family member in the LSVT Family Daymond John says, be compassionate in times of need. Your employees are people, and to show you care sometimes is all they need if they are going through a crisis.
The bottom line: You can be brilliant and courageous, and kind and generous—In fact, you're more likely to succeed if you practice compassion.
How do these values get you thinking about changes you need to make, skills you need to hone towards your path to success in 2018?
