The surprising benefit of killing ants.

Killing Ants.

It’s an unusual ritual but the benefits are incredible.

Squishing Ants on a regular basis will give you more energy, improve your confidence and help you find more inner peace.?

But first, where do you find Ants?

Ants stands for Automatic Negative Thought(S).

Wait, what kind of Ants did you think I was talking about??

Automatic Negative Thoughts are exhausting and often plague our brain.?

“My partner never listens to me” “My friends criticise me behind my back”?

“My manager doesn’t like me”?

“I’m terrible at my job”?

Thoughts like these influence your mood. They’re the cause of anxiety, make you catastrophize and be super hard on yourself.?

If you don’t make an effort to reduce them, your whole life will be dictated by them.?

But how can you kill these thoughts?

Well one thing that rarely works is Positive Thinking.?

An alternative, better approach however is to use Accurate Thinking.

And here’s a 3 step process for you to do so:

Step 1: Identify and Acknowledge the ANT

  • Notice when an ANT appears and label it as an ANT.
  • Write it down, get it out of your head so you can look at it, observe it and create distance.

Step 2: Take it to Court

  • Gather objective evidence: Ask yourself: “Is it true? How do I know that it’s true?” Focus on facts not feelings.
  • Put yourself on the stand: “Could I prove beyond reasonable doubt that this thought is true?”

Step 3: Reframe and Replace the Thought

  • Reframe: What’s a new more accurate thought that you could have instead?
  • Replace: Affirm this new thought and take a small action that supports it.

The more you take your ANTs through this process, the less power they will have over you.

The more you practise, the better you will get at squishing them.?
