Surprise

Surprise

Today's devotional is from What Would Jesus Ask You Today?

"Men of Israel, why does this surprise you?" - Acts 3:12.

God is a God of surprises, for He does not act or think like we do. Most of the surprises come when we trust Him for some outcome, but have no idea how He will bring it about—but He does in His own unique manner. Sometimes He surprises us when we expect Him to act in judgment and He acts in grace. At other times, He bestows on us insight or revelation into His word that specifically addresses a need we have. And finally, it is always a surprise as to how much God loves us.

When is the last time you were surprised in your walk with the Lord? How long ago was it when you trusted Him for that which you could not anticipate or expect? Have you cooperated lately with the Lord to produce a surprise blessing the life of someone else? Read the verses preceding today's question in Acts 3:1-11 and then determine to help produce or see the kind of surprise contained in that story.
