?? Surfing the Job Hunt Wave ??

Ever felt like job hunting is a wild rollercoaster ride? I've been surfing this wave for the past six months, from scoring a job to kicking it off, and then—plot twist!—getting laid off just three months in! Life's full of surprises, right? All we can do is focus on what's in our control: our emotions, effort, and attitude. Glass half full or half empty; it's up to us!

As I dove into yet another job search, I thought about my past attempts. I used to rely on a basic 谷歌 Sheet that I made look pretty decent. But my pals and former coworkers, who've gone through the job search grind, suggested I level up my "Job Search Tracker" game to better monitor my applications, interviews, and (yikes) rejections.

We all know job hunting feels like a job in itself, huh? We pour our hearts into finding that next great gig. To paint a picture for those who haven't job hunted in forever (I'm looking at you, parents, in-laws, friends, and family friends), it's like playing three roles at once:

  • SDR - Always on the lookout on LinkedIn and other job boards for cool new opportunities, getting to know the important peeps, and reaching out to them.
  • AE - When you score those interviews, it's time to show off who you are, your awesome skills, and what makes you a great fit. And, of course, seal the deal!
  • AM/CSM - Connecting with others through various groups, channels, buddies, and even past coworkers.

Juggling all these tasks can be intense, and sometimes stuff slips through the cracks. But staying organized can bring a bit of zen to our chaotic lives (it's definitely helped me!).

And guess what? I found this awesome tool called Notion for my job hunt! If you haven't checked it out, it's like a digital playground for your brain. Imagine a massive sandbox filled with amazing toys and tools, but instead of sandcastles, you're organizing tasks, taking notes, planning your calendar, and even collaborating with friends and colleagues. And the best part? It's way tidier than a real sandbox!

You can kick off with a free account and use Notion 's Templates to track your job search, or unleash your creativity and make your own!
