A supportive place to explore music

A supportive place to explore music

Across Central Florida and beyond, January brings new beginnings. At CFCArts, January also coincides with many program kickoffs. Members greet each other again after the holidays, welcome newcomers with smiles, and dig into new music or scripts together.

For many, CFCArts provides a creative outlet and a place to belong that they might not feel elsewhere. This is especially true for the CFCArts Youth Orchestra! As younger members adjust to new teachers, assignments, and earlier bedtimes, the Youth Orchestra provides an outlet to practice on their favorite instruments. Having this dedicated space outside of the classroom makes transitioning into a new school semester seamless, topping it off with a supportive group of peers on the stage and behind the curtain.

The Youth Orchestra is open to those of all ages with at least one year of playing experience. Encompassing everything from string to woodwind, brass to percussion families, this season is back in full swing with exciting musical challenges for the students. The Youth Orchestra will be guided by a returning leadership team from the spring season who are passionate about the arts and these young artists.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL

"Being a part of CFCArts Youth Orchestra as a violinist has been a very fulfilling experience. As an online school student, CFCArts gives me the chance to be in an orchestra like no other. In the Youth Orchestra program, you meet other students and teachers with the same passion for music, and I am exposed to skill-building and entertaining music. I feel a sense of accomplishment as well when we nail a piece that we all thought was so hard at first.

Another aspect that sets the Youth Orchestra program apart is that each concert is never just a concert. We have actors, dancers, lighting, and other special effects on stage that make it an immersive experience for the audience.

Playing with the adult orchestra for their performance of Disney's Beauty and the Beast: In Concert showed the dedication CFCArts has to make sure that the performers and the audience have a performance to remember.

I found CFCArts at the perfect time, and I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunities they give me to be on stage again."
