Supporting Women and Caregivers

Like most things in our lives, finding the proper time for loved ones, ourselves and work has been turned upside-down. And seven months into the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become abundantly clear that caregivers, particularly women, continue to be disproportionately impacted by the increasing challenges of juggling work and family demands. In fact, recent labor statistics show that nearly 80% of the 1.1 million workers who dropped out of the workforce in September were women, and that number may continue to grow as a new study by Fidelity finds that nearly 4-in-10 women (39%) are actively considering leaving the workforce or reducing their hours.

Why are women considering stepping back? Increased remote schooling and caregiving responsibilities to name a few. Here are the top answers we heard in our study:

Given the urgency of this shift, I’m proud that Fidelity is helping. We are fully committed to finding new ways to support the caregivers in our workforce and our clients. In addition to the new benefits and creative resources we are offering to our employees, Fidelity is partnering with thousands of employers nationwide to roll out our Women Talk Money Program to help address the most pressing work and life decisions.

Through this change, the encouraging news is that more than two-thirds of women (67%) say they are more engaged in managing their money since the onset of the pandemic. Where women were already building good planning and savings habits, many say they have amplified those efforts in the last six months to help shore up finances for the future. This is a win and we should celebrate it!

In the past few years, there has been a huge boom of women starting their own businesses. In fact, 7 out of 10 small business owners in America are female. With the fast rise of women entrepreneurs, it is evident that this is an important topic to be discussed. Women are creating businesses at record levels, but they're still underrepresented in the corporate world. Although there are regular stories about companies that support women , there's not much out there about helping regular women succeed . Kathleen Murphy stunning post

You write well but your company do not even have a responsive customer support system. Multiple tweets get unanswered. Customer care contact no and IVR is purpatually on recorded message irrespective of whatever time one calls. In the age of digital and social, Fidelity do not even have the basic minimum technology to deliver basic customer support. Fidelity to me is one of the most unprofessional and mismanaged company and running its organisation with 90’s technology
