Supporting the pharmaceutical industry during a Critical Incident: A Testimony to Teamwork and Resilience

The pharma industry faced a significant challenge recently when one of India's leading healthcare companies had a major incident where fundamental questions regarding IT security operational protocols and safety measures were raised. While the situation indicated the vulnerabilities that existed within the industry, it also revealed the level of response and collaboration involved for such challenges to be overcome.

On the night of Dussehra, our senior manager received an emergency call for help from a pharma company, which was being hit by a serious hardware failure resulting from a DDoS attack that was severely affecting the operation of its multi-facility operations. The incident was an eye-opener to the fact that a strong IT infrastructure and rapid response mechanisms are now a prerequisite for today's challenging regulatory scenario.

We recognised the criticality of the situation and moved quickly to deploy comprehensive IT support. In the next 48 hours, we coordinated efforts to deploy:

20 New Servers: So that Client’s data and applications could be restored efficiently.

10 Storage Devices: To handle the increased data load and ensure continuity of operations.

Our efforts spanned five different centers in India, requiring seamless collaboration and meticulous planning.

At this time, the devices are being configured and installed. This operation can be considered as one of the major achievements of our RAC team, because it reflects the level of commitment of our team toward supporting one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in India.

The swift response of the team ensured that the critical operations of the pharma company could be sustained, which finally helped to safeguard public health in a challenging period.
