Supporting the people of Ukraine
The conflict in Ukraine has impacted a lot of people all around us. Today, we’re not offering any words of comfort, but actions that you can take to support and help people during these traumatic times. We believe that everyone deserves to feel at home, no matter where you come from or what you choose to believe in. War is never the answer, and we’d like to use our voice and this space to remind our community that it’s time for us to turn towards each other, not against each other.
Here are some ways that you can support the people of Ukraine ????
?1) Your voice
Use it to speak up against the atrocities that are occurring. We have seen how this can impact and influence leaders of government (eg. Germany, Switzerland). Use your social media, send emails to your local authorities, or even show up to peaceful demonstrations.?

Sign up as host volunteer: Allocate space in your home for the purpose of temporary refuge.
Translation without borders- Languages such as Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Romanian, German and many others.
Tech Skills Assistance- If you’re tech-savvy and want to volunteer your time to assist.?

?3) Donations
If you’d like to offer financial support, please do so at the Red Cross Netherlands. Other contribution avenues will open up, it’s important to do your own research and verify them.?
?4) Petitions

There are many petitions circulating online at this given time, including the closure of airspace, you can find the list here?
?5) Peaceful demonstrations:
Actions sometimes speak louder than words. If you’d like to participate in a peaceful protest, you can find the schedule here or here. There are lots of templates available to create signs and boards, you may check this space for a full list of templates.?
?6) Non-financial donations:?
Lastly and most importantly, if you’d like to make a direct humanitarian impact, there are many organisations, such as Nova Posta that are collecting essential items and medical needs to be taken directly to Ukraine cities and Polish Borders.?

Important: Please keep an eye on your city’s official website or social media and avoid going to the borders yourself or as organised groups, as this is causing a lot of confusion and congestion at the crossings. Instead, connect directly with the organisations helping out.?
