Access to Patient Information Leaflets (PIL) plays a key role in care pathways, by equipping patients with information about their condition and treatment- crucial in helping patients understand and engage with their care plan. ?

Traditionally, PILs have been printed and physically distributed in care organisations. With the increase in amount of information produced, updates to existing content, and the physical limitations of printed leaflets, effectively distributing PILs in physical formats is becoming increasingly difficult.??

This is where the Patient Information Module (PIM) from ?Induction Guidance can help - Organisations can now digitally publish and update information through Guidance. ?This function provides Medical Organisations with a platform to manage and publish information for patients. Guidance can also support the upload of existing patient information leaflets into the app with it’s “import bot”. ?

Crucially, PIM gives complete control over management and real time updates to content. The in-built metrics record access statistics, allowing Editors to see which content is most popular and how often it is consumed. Information can be interlinked, allowing patients to easily find further related information. It also has a powerful search function, configurable by Content Editors.??

When published, patients are able to access content through a web viewer and a purpose-built bespoke app that is free to download. The Module gives patients a platform to feedback on the usefulness and readability of published information to the Induction support team, helping to improve future versions of the application.??
