In recent weeks, the UK has witnessed a series of anti-immigration riots, which have brought significant distress to many, particularly our international nurses. These far-right protests have targeted immigrant communities, resulting in violence and heightened anxiety among healthcare professionals. Despite these challenges, it is crucial to reassure our international nurses that they are deeply valued and welcomed in the UK.
A Safe and Supportive Environment
To our international nurses: We recognise the invaluable contributions you make to our healthcare system. Your dedication and hard work are appreciated now more than ever. During this turmoil, it’s essential to understand that the actions of a small minority do not reflect the views of the British people. The overwhelming majority stands with you and supports you.
Employer Responsibility
For employers, this is a critical moment to step up and ensure the safety and wellbeing of your international staff. Here are some steps you can take to support your nurses during these challenging times:

Our Commitment
To all employers: We have established communities of nurses across the UK who support each other, and we are running webinars with expert speakers. These sessions provide guidance on coping strategies and reinforce the message that the violent actions of a small minority do not represent the broader British society.
If you are concerned about any individual nurse, we are here to help. Together, we can create a safe and supportive environment where all healthcare professionals feel secure and appreciated.
In these trying times, it is crucial to show our international nurses that they are an essential part of our healthcare system. By taking proactive measures and providing robust support, we can ensure their safety and wellbeing, helping them continue their vital work without fear.
Let’s work together to support and protect our international nurses, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. For more information or to join our support networks and webinars, please reach out. Together, we can make a difference.

3 个月There is a REASON?this is all happening.? For decades, the media establishment REFUSED to allow Muslims to be portrayed as ‘ordinary people’.? There has been shameless, deliberate, systematic demonisation to create an ‘OTHER’ and sell OUTRAGE.? (Jewish people understand this very well – they have been subjected to this ‘sinister other’ categorisation for centuries.)? This immersive, eye-opening article about my experience with Big Publishing demonstrates how brazen and callous this really is (you will be astonished and outraged – there is surprise-after-surprise-after-surprise … all the way to the end): https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/how-big-publishing-has-insisted-demonisation-muslims-imran-ahmad-ewboc/ Please SHARE …
