Yesterday afternoon, the Downtown Orlando Partnership's Jill Vaughan and City of Orlando Downtown Development Board's David Barilla, visited Parramore's?New Image Youth Center?(NIYC) to present a?check from DOP's Chow on Church. On June 18th, DOP hosted the inaugural Chow on Church, presented by the Downtown Development Board, aiming?to celebrate and support local downtown businesses over food, fun, and connections. FORDify the Arts Courtyard Groundbreaking
Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 5 Commissioner Rose,?Interstruct Design + Build, and the?Downtown Arts District?gathered for a ceremonial groundbreaking yesterday morning for the FORDify the Arts Courtyard, adjacent to the historic Rogers Kiene Building. Interstruct's vision for the project has evolved over the past five years, dramatically enhanced through the repurposing of materials donated by?Lincoln Property Company?from the former Church Street Ballroom. Dr. Paul Skomsky has led the charge to ensure materials such as the steel archways and bricks have been properly salvaged for their use in incorporating downtown's history into its future story.
