Supporting LGBTQ+ Professionals Goes Beyond the Month of June

Join us this Pride month as we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and champion a world where all professionals are welcome to be who they are — year-round.

We’re shining a spotlight on Lilly ContinoRuss FinkelsteinMillerKat FergersonDr. A.C. Fowlkes, Emil Wilbekin, and Jezz Chung. Follow along as they share their unique workplace stories, experiences, and perspectives that can spark conversation and action beyond the month of June.

LinkedIn’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group (ERG), Out@In, is also working toward bringing awareness to the benefits of ERGs on our platform this month. With over 1,000 members worldwide, Out@In creates a safe environment for LGBTQ+ employees to find support and community in the workplace. Both allies and ERGs can play an important role in continuously creating an inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ professionals, especially as employees are navigating the workplace at the same time that many states are enacting legislation hostile to the LGBTQ+ community.

An easy way to show your support for your transgender and nonbinary coworkers could be adding your pronouns to your LinkedIn Profile. To do so, follow these steps:

Absolutely, every month should echo the vibrancy of June's #Pride! ?? Maya Angelou once said, "We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter their color." Let's weave a world where everyone can shine authentically in their professional and personal lives. ??????? #InclusionMatters #DiversityInAction

Why don't LinkedIn set everyone's pronouns to "no pronouns" as a default? Having a default which is unset forces people to out themselves, if they want to use different pronouns than what people assume from their name. Also why is there no option to have two different names and profile URLs for one profile? You can be either out to everyone or not, this is not helping with transitioning. Also it is not safe for everyone to be out in all contexts. Are u interested in helping or is this just marketing? If it is just for the pronouns, don't worry people put them in their bio anyways.
