Supporting Each Other

Sunrise Family,

I am reaching out to you today with an aching heart and candidly, a pit in my stomach, following yet another heinous act of violence at a Texas Elementary School.?21 precious human lives were taken, including 19 innocent second through fourth graders.?Unthinkable.?Just days ago, we saw a horrific act of hate in a grocery store in Buffalo – outrageous events that are becoming far too common.??

Our collective prayers and support are with these impacted family members and friends whose lives have been changed forever.

I know these gut-wrenching tragedies impact all of us.?How could it not??I encourage you to openly discuss these feelings with each other given that we are family at Sunrise and have each other’s backs.?It is also important we all take the time to get the professional emotional and mental health support that we need and deserve from time to time.?You need to know that Sunrise has high-quality support resources available through professional partners and programs, such as our Lifeworks EAP, which I highly recommend to you and your family.

Today, we also have a special team member support call led by Dr. Wehry, which provides an opportunity to take a time out from our busy schedules to invest in our own mental health during these continued challenging times. Please find the time to join her if you can.

You should also know Sunrise will continue to prioritize investing in enhanced support programs for all our team members and our families.?You are the at the very heart of who we are and promoting your own health and well-being is a top priority.

I would also like to acknowledge that as an organization, Sunrise will continue our journey to make our communities safe, loving, and inclusive homes for all.?We will also do our part to help us all do better as fellow human beings; we can and must do better as a society.
