- Cover letter to USCIS for Green Card application (petition). If you hire a lawyer, then the lawyer will write you the petition. If you prefer to apply by yourself, then you can follow the instructions how to write the petition for EB-1/EB-2 application.
- Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker
- The fee of $700 for the I-140 petition
- Extended Curriculum Vitae
- Copy of Ph.D. diploma with certified translation into English (if applied to you)
- Evaluation of your foreign Ph.D. diploma to US equivalency by accredited US company
- Copy of your published papers
- Citations for your papers (only first page + pages with citations of your name)
- Letters of recommendation. The optimized number of recommendation letters is 6-8, three from your supervisors and 3-5 from independent referees.
- Professional reputation of the referees.
- Certificates from Universities showing your Ph.D. and post-doc positions. If the original document is in other than English language, it should be translated into English by accredited company.
- ETA 750 form, Application for Alien Employment Certification. This certification is waived for NIW application, however you still need to fill this form, please see here for details.
- Copy of your foreign passport including visa and form I-94
- Copy of all DS-2019/I-20 forms ever issued
- Certificates of membership in Scientific Organizations
- Copy of federal taxes
- Any other supporting documents (grants, awards, invitation letters from conferences, invitation letters from scientific journals,...)
