Supporting Communities Affected by California Wildfires

California continues to face the devastating impact of wildfires, with the Palisades and Eaton Fires leaving widespread destruction in their wake. Here's an update on the situation and the critical response efforts underway:

Palisades Fire (63% contained): 6,380 structures destroyed and 857 damaged.

Eaton Fire (89% contained): 9,418 structures destroyed and 1,062 damaged.

To support those affected, The Salvation Army is launching a Wildfire Resource Hub on January 27. This multi-agency resource center will serve as a centralized location where individuals and families can access direct assistance, including financial aid. As part of this effort, The Salvation Army is coordinating mass feeding operations and leading financial assistance initiatives to ensure resources reach those in need.

In partnership with the American Red Cross, congregate evacuation shelters are currently housing 558 clients as of January 20. To date, 7,985 meals have been served, providing much-needed sustenance and comfort to displaced residents.

We remain committed to supporting communities in their recovery and providing critical resources during this challenging time.
