Supporting Colleague Success at Sage

As Colleague Experience Manager at Sage, a crucial part of my role is to look at how colleagues are engaging in the business, the keys to successful colleague engagement and creating a great colleague experience which is inclusive for all.

One (or six) of our great successes at Sage is our Colleague Success Network: a network of six colleague-led groups which exist to support colleague success and community across the business. Themed around diversity & inclusion and enabling colleague success, these groups include colleague networks representing mental health awareness, giving back to the community, LGBTQ+, and colleague voice and opinion.

These colleague-led groups are not only a great show of colleagues who go above and beyond the normal level of engaging in their workplace and within their business, they have shown how to create a colleague support network that works.

Having a network like these managed completely by colleagues and not driven by HR is a much better way to encourage colleagues to reach out for advice and support. Our Colleague Success Network at Sage in the UK and Ireland are a dedicated force, constantly looking for new ways to engage colleagues and ensure they receive the best experience at Sage.

Take for example, Pride week: our LGBTQ+ network Pride@Sage created a full schedule for Pride Week across our offices in the UK & Ireland. We took part in a Pride march, led workshops on transgender awareness and even set up our own Pride catwalk so our colleagues could strut their stuff and celebrate themselves for who they are.

Pride week was a great success and it was fab to see just how many colleagues got involved and enjoyed themselves in the process.

Initiatives like this are what businesses need to ensure an inclusive culture. Our colleagues at Sage are really at the heart of driving colleague engagement and ensuring a great colleague experience.
