Supporting children through chronic illness: A What We Value Project

RockCorps is proud to support the?Deutsche Telekom?Platform,?“What We Value”?in recruiting volunteer leaders under 30yrs old from across Europe. We met so many inspiring visionaries, here is one of their stories:

Sára Forgács-Fábián?was diagnosed with a chronic illness at the age of nine, hospitalised for a year -?it was an experience that changed her life forever.?She felt very lucky, because her loved ones were by her side and supported her throughout her illness.?Unfortunately, this is not given to all children.

Sára always knew she wanted tohelp other hospitalised children, providing the same support that she was lucky to have. Sara went on to found Amigos a gyerekekért // Amigos for children with a close group of friends:?an organisation with a mission to help and motivate chronically ill children in hospitals through providing activities, games,?teaching languages and building friendships.

Now in 2023, they are present in five Hungarian cities and visit 160 hospitals regularly with 30 visits every week.

In the past 7 years they have made more than 7000 children happy.
