About the Presenter:
Leanna Edwards, BSN, RN, OCN has spent her entire nursing career supporting the complex field of oncology. After completing nursing school in 2008, she began her journey on an oncology unit where she served as a Unit Coordinator. Leanna ventured into the rewarding work of oncology navigation as the general oncology nurse navigator at a facility in a 12-hospital health system. During her years as a navigator, she supported an underserved rural population in a large geographic area overcome frequent barriers to care, assisted in creating and implementing a systemwide Survivorship Care Class for patients who had recently completed treatment, and worked on a team to standardize navigation pathways, documentation, and reports across the health system.
She is a member of the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators (AONN+), the Virginia Cancer Patient Navigator Network (VACPNN), and the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society (SEVONS) where she served on the board for several years as both Director-at-Large and Secretary. Leanna currently holds the position of OncoNav Clinical Support and Relational Management Specialist with Onco, Inc.
