Supporting Advance Care Planning in Community - Childers Queensland!

I'm a wee bit excited.

After doing this presentation in Rocky/Yeppoon a couple or three times, we are taking it to the next level here in Childers, Queensland (you know where the famous Childers Festival is held!) with a joint facilitation/collaboration with Gillian Hall.

About Gillian:

Gillian is Community Lead at @ Funerals Sunshine Coast & Regions Qld(a community based not for profit funeral service provider)

Gillian is a professional community worker, with a strong background in the private sector, successfully adopting a community development approach into effective community work.

Recognition of current community work, building community capacity. Working with residents to build social capital in a Sunshine Coast hinterland community resulted in a nomination for Sunshine Coast Inspiring Women's Awards - Community Leader.

About me: (Desley Cowley)

Now retired I am looking forward to contributing to the Childers community and currently a regular volunteer at the Childers Library as one of the JP’s in Community Volunteers (CDec), I have completed the Advance Care Planning in Community workshop through the Statewide Office of Advance Care Planning and am passionate about helping people of all ages ensure their stories are recorded and their affairs are ‘in order’.

Hope you can join us. The workshop will be a mix of conversation and information. We are looking forward to hearing your feedback and feel it's important to share that this event is for people of all ages!

Please share with your networks. Please note RSVP details on the flyer below but if you have any queries/questions, please pm me.

Both Gillian and I will be available after the presentation for anyone who'd like to stay to chat.

We will also have Advance Care Planning kits to give away.

..and it's all FREE. Thanks so much to Bundaberg Regional Council and Childers Neighbourhood Centre for their help in providing the venue and morning tea.
