Support Small Businesses

How many of you have been driving around in these cute little towns, or even up and down Michigan Avenue and Ford Road, and you start seeing all these vacant buildings?? The strip plazas that once had a lot of different businesses in them are now empty, we have it everywhere.?

How does that happen? It happens if you don't support small businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of the community.? These businesses are the ones that you can walk into and you know the person behind the counter, and they in turn know your name. You walk in and they are like, “Mary, how are you? How's your grandson? Wasn't he just born?” That's the kind of feel you get from a small business.?

Small businesses are the ones that donate to our communities. Yes, all these big box stores will say that they donate to an organization, but small businesses are the ones that donate to every little league, to every baseball team, football team, girl Scouts, boy scouts, etc.

Small businesses are there for our local charities, our local community, and they employ people from your own local town. I do, I live in the town where my store is, and I have three other employees who live in the town too.? And when they leave work, they're going to go shop at a local business that's next door on the way home.?

How do you support small businesses? How do you feel about it? Do you just automatically go to your phone, because it's easy? Getting out of your car, driving to a store, and parking could be a little more challenging, but it's worth it.? Because if you see all those empty buildings, it'll hurt your home value as well. So, it doesn't only affect the small business, it can affect you.?

What happens when there are no more stores that you can walk into, and you can only shop online? There are times that we all have to shop online, but I believe that should be your last resort.?
