The Youth Charter launched on 23rd March 1993, at Wembley Stadium, in response to the tragic murder of 14-year-old schoolboy Benji Stanley, who was shot dead in Moss Side on 2nd January 1993.

Since then, there have been projects, programmes, initiatives, advocacy, campaigning, and lobbying to see sport and physical activity as a fundamental human right of hope and opportunity.

Despite this fact disaffection and?disadvantage continues to see anti-social gang related violence blight our communities inner city, suburban and rural.

In 2021 (to date) the Youth Charter has recorded 65 Young Lives Lost to Youth Violence on the streets of the UK. There have been 28 teenagers murdered in London, which is approaching the record of 29 recorded in 2008.?

The Youth Charter 2021 Christmas Appeal is aiming to raise funds to support our ongoing work with young people and communities across the UK and around the world as we enter our 29th Year.

?The Youth Charter launched its National Call 2 Action as part of our 2019 Manifesto during the 2019 General Election. The National Call 2 Action includes a 10 Point Action Plan for Youth Provision in the UK, with the delivery of 10 Community Campuses and 10,000 Social Coaches recruited, trained and deployed to engage, equip and empower 1millon young people.??

The Youth Charter’s Global Call 2 Action aims to deliver 50 Community Campuses and 50,000 Social Coaches recruited, trained and deployed to engage, equip and empower 5millon young people.
