Support PV youth environmental stewardship through MC Gives!

Watsonville Wetlands Watch is proud to participate in this year's Monterey County Gives campaign! We will engage fifth grade students from Pajaro Valley Unified School District Schools in North Monterey County (Hall District and Ohlone Elementary Schools) in hands-on environmental education and our community forest initiative, to develop young environmental stewards.?

Wetland Wonders is our experiential environmental education program for fifth-graders supporting Next Generation Science Standards. We engage students in hands-on data collection, analysis, and scientific experimentation to develop their skills as scientists, support their learning, and inspire them to act for our wetlands and environment.

Students and their families will receive shade and fruit trees to plant at their homes, as well as on-going bilingual information and support for tree plantings, as part of our Community Forest initiative, a multi-year project to increase tree canopy cover in the Pajaro Valley, and clean our air and water, provide shade and cooling, and capture atmospheric carbon to help address climate change.

Please join us in our work developing youth environmental stewards in the Pajaro Valley with a gift to our MC Gives campaign, which runs through the end of the year. Your generosity will inspire others to give as well, and help us earn a portion of the available matching funds. You can give online today. Thank you!
